Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill Restaurant Review: This may be a chain, as opposed to an endearing mom-and-pop neighborhood favorite, but it's still reasonably authentic. The restaurant's most popular item, a tri-tip roast, is slow-roasted overnight and mesquite-grilled to order, accompanied by diners' choice from a plethora of side dishes. The beef is tender and flavorful, and like most dishes here, generously portioned. On weekends, the restaurant offers a slow-roasted prime rib special that draws the locals, who begin with pulled pork sliders, baby-back ribs, or barbecued chicken potato skins. One can also find burgers and sandwiches, including a version with the famous tri-tip barbecue. Meats --- ribs, steaks, chicken, etc. --- are king on the menu, but the endless selections also include lighter options like salads (e.g., grilled vegetable, chopped, and Asian chicken) and fresh fish such as rainbow trout and Atlantic salmon, along with a few vegetarian options. If you’ve still got room, consider home-style cheesecake or an old-fashioned cobbler made with apples or peaches. A mostly California wine list has more than 25 options by the glass.
