Yanni's Restaurant Review: Since 1984, this family-run taverna served authentic Greek food in a delightfully kitschy, comfortable room festooned with colorful pottery. Following a 2013 remodel courtesy of the TV show “Kitchen Nightmares,” a bright, friendly room greets diners who still get the same traditional Greek specialties. Yanni Avgoustiou commands the kitchen, and Mama Avgoustiou, his wife, makes the dolmathes and spanakopita. As a starter, pair the tzatziki with aromatic stuffed grape leaves. For a main course, we suggest the moist rotisserie chicken (order the dish early because it may run out). Moussaka is also a hit, with its eggplant/meat sauce infused with cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, and creamy béchamel. There's an all-Greek wine list and plenty of retsina. For dessert, don't miss Mama's galaktoboureko, sticky custard-filled phyllo rolls.
