Yoko satisfies the sushi cravings of serenity-seeking South Beach locals with integrity. The sushi menu is mostly devoid of the American-inspired fusion rolls and concoctions that clutter the menus of so many Japanese restaurants nowadays. Instead, one can find creative minimalist makis that feel more Asian in spirit, like a tempura-battered sweet potato roll. Though the seafood selection is not extensive, Yoko's keeps things from getting tedious by offering à la carte sauces and dips, enabling diners to customize their sushi. As for the rest of the menu, we suggest the dainty crab dumplings; sashimi is buttery and choice; and imported beers abound in this proper little joint. While there's nothing spectacular about either the food or setting, this is a good escape for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner.
