The only strictly Japanese noodle and teriyaki house in New Orleans is good enough to offset the dearth of such places in the area and, of course, it's located out here in the far reaches of Kenner, an ethnically rich neighborhood overall. Stoic female cooks turn soba, ramen and udon noodles into dishes that are as pretty as they are practical. A wintry stew of strapping udon noodles and mustard-yellow curry gravy is an option on the brief menu; cold ramen noodles form the basis for salads as well. Handmade gyoza dumplings are as critical to the Yutaro experience as is a stroll through the adjacent Asian Gourmet market.
