 Power lunches and post-work munchies are the draw at this innovative, boisterous Mexican spot that serves Serrano pepper-zapped, tableside guacamole (with jÃcama sticks, no less) to spice-seekers. A fine starter is the queso fundido accented with poblanos and chorizo, but the shrimp empanadas may taste less than fresh. Al pastor tacos are sweetly accented with fresh pineapple, but mole-accented chicken is bland and unappealing. Burnt caramel ice cream, however, is a must for dessert. Dozens of tequilas---known to fuel happy hour fun---make for good sipping. Specials, like $5 taco dinners on Mondays, are further priced to sell. There are locations in the Lincoln Park neighborhood and Northbrook as well.
