THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Zin Restaurant Review:
Zin restaurateur Alex Pryor has celebrated numerous years in business---no small feat for an independent restaurant that’s located in the heart of the Crossroads Art District. But Pryor has a knack for hiring talented staff and for cultivating clientele. Executive chef Karl Martens maintains the focus on seasonal, local fare with a contemporary flair. Try the tomato and cipollini salad tossed with sherry vinaigrette and sprinkled with Missouri goat cheese, or pan-seared rainbow trout with smoked tomato broth and roasted vegetable gratin. Zin's location gives diners a panoramic view of the neighborhood. While the wine list remains keenly focused on Zinfandels, there is also a host of house martinis; many are crafted from infused vodkas, including ones made with blackberry and red grapefruit. Some of the best cocktail deals in town happen during Zin's happy hour.
