Zocalo Restaurant Review: This trendy midtown eatery is a good bet for those seeking a fun night out with friends. The menu is more refined than expected given the party vibe, and features regional Mexican cuisine. Starters include the expected nachos and quesadillas, a chorizo and cheese baked casserole as well as selections from a ceviche bar. Mains follow suit, and include enchiladas and tacos alongside chile verde and butternut squash tamales with shrimp and smoked pork shoulder. Traditional desserts such as tres leches, flan and pan-fried plantains with brown sugar and cinnamon are also available. Come every first Monday of the month for a tequila tasting, or enjoy a monthly wine dinner.
