Zookers Cafe Restaurant Review:
Family-owned Zooker’s is a nice neighborhood restaurant, one of the best options for lunch or dinner in Carpinteria. Salads are big and fresh, and feature produce grown on local farms. For lunch, try the crunchy chicken curry salad or one of the ample stuffed sandwiches. Can't decide on a salad or a sandwich? Then go for the half-and-half lunchtime combo. The regular dinner menu features a variety of pasta and vegetable dishes and a daily fish special, but meatloaf made with turkey and mushrooms is the big seller. Or consider the banana-crusted salmon with basil risotto. Homemade desserts include tiramisu, molten chocolate cake and tasty fruit crisps. Service doesn’t match the food, however, and is slow and disorganized.
