 Influential chef-owner Zov Karamardian has offered Mediterranean-inspired dishes to OC for decades at her original Zov’s Bistro in downtown Tustin. Locals appreciate the freshness of the ingredients here in such traditional appetizer plates as hummus, calamari, baba ghanouj and tabbouleh. If you like soup, however, don’t miss starting out with the signature golden lentil variety. The entrée salads, such as the chicken paillard with leafy greens, goat cheese, red onions, candied walnuts and a tomato balsamic vinaigrette, are huge and flavorful. As for entrées, we particularly enjoy the roasted rosemary-garlic chicken, the impressively tender lamb shishlik and the rack of lamb with roasted garlic and pomegranate jus. The service here is friendly and prompt, and the inspired half-bottle wine list offers impressive value. Check out the adjacent bakery for an array of pastries, not to mention breakfast and brunch selections like Zov's Special Omelet and vanilla yogurt topped with crunchy home-baked granola.
