Z's Oyster Bar & Steakhouse Restaurant Review: Z's offers ocean-fresh fish, a changing selection of Pacific Northwest oysters (including savory-sweet Kumamotos), and other seafood that arrives daily. The bounty includes shrimp as big as your hand, a stand-out crab cake, Atlantic salmon, jumbo sea scallops, Hawaiian butterfish and Dover sole. The buttery rainbow trout is stuffed with fresh crab meat, and Maine lobsters reside in backlit tanks in the main dining room. But this is a first-rate steakhouse, too. Serrated knives really aren’t needed to cut into the filet. Other red meat options include a 16-ounce rib-eye, 24-ounce porterhouse, a veal porterhouse and a pork rib chop finished with Calvados demi-glace. Among the à la carte, sharable sides are creamed corn, spinach sautéed in garlic and olive oil, and an array of wild mushrooms doused with bourbon. Choose a chocolate, raspberry, Grand Marnier or Bourbon-chocolate chip soufflé for dessert. Classic jazz sets the mood in the woody dining room or cozy lounge.
