By Sophie Gayot

Venice, September 18, 2021

Inspired by the current situation the world is going through, artist Kim McCarty decided to take her paintbrushes to enlighten us with her watercolors.

Listen to her talk about the art in the video below, filmed during the opening reception in a very charming bungalow gallery in Venice, California.

McCarthy’s paintings vary in sizes and prices, ranging from 14 x 12 in. to 45 x 76 in. and $3,500-$18,000. Please note that the photos below, taken with my camera, may not reflect the exact colors used by McCarty.

Kim McCarty, who is the wife of restaurateur Michael McCarty, (b. 1956 Los Angeles, CA) received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA and her Master in Fine Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her work is included in the collections of the Hammer Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY and the Honolulu Academy of Art.
