At this delightfully nostalgic Eagle Rock café of chef/owner Terri Wahl, ceiling fans purr above tables topped in colorful plastic cloths. Wahl’s baked goods have a big reputation --- her brownies and coconut cupcakes are reputedly in demand by visiting celebrities --- but there are also many opportunities for a rewarding breakfast or lunch. Among sandwiches, you can opt for homey meatloaf on country white bread or curried chickpea with vegetarian credentials and Indian seasoning. Worthy salads include roasted beet with feta, walnuts and a balsamic reduction, and tossed Cobb featuring house-roasted chicken. Muffins, scones and the cultish red velvet cupcakes are turned out fresh daily, and breakfast items range from honey-orange french toast to soul-warming biscuits and gravy.
