![]() : Despite the fact that this Big Easy-themed eatery happens to be smack in the center of the tourist-packed West 46th Street restaurant row, it still manages to transcend the cheesiness of a theme restaurant. Perhaps because the food is about as authentic as you can get without actually getting on a New Orleans-bound airplane. So, take a seat on the balcony overlooking the street (during the warm weather months, it's the best place to sit) and indulge in five kinds of po’ boys, traditional Cajun jambalaya, and blackened catfish (the latter is a standout) and modern takes like chicken and andouille potpie. Adding in a few sides is also well worth it, especially the cheese grits, corn potato hash, and hush puppies. The other attraction is the interior, which offers a fine rendition of Bourbon Street charm, albeit spiffed up with leather booths, stained glass, elegant iron work and a massive wood bar. |
