THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Bowery Kitchen Restaurant Review:
Located in The Bowery House, a hotel for trendy budget-minded travelers, The Bowery Kitchen presents a hip diner-like environment with neon signs compelling guests to “EAT,” “DRINK” and “INDULGE.” The space is one long room, with an open counter looking into the kitchen at the end and a bar running along one side. Keeping its doors open until 2 a.m., the restaurant serves breakfast all day and a menu of pizzas, panini and Italian dishes with a twist. A tuna and arugula salad with boiled eggs and cannellini beans is accented with sesame-soy dressing, while gorgonzola gnocchi are topped with sliced pear and walnuts for tartness and texture. Main courses include oven-roasted salmon with vegetable couscous; marinated pork cheek with mashed potatoes and asparagus; and four choices of handmade ravioli, such as porcini mushrooms and Toma cheese in a Parmesan cream sauce or chicken sausage and radishes in tomato sauce. The grass-fed Angus burger with speck and Fontina cheese is also a popular pick. Follow that “INDULDGE” directive with Italian cheesecake or semi-frozen hazelnut brittle for dessert. There’s a short wine list focusing on Italian selections, as well as sangria, mimosas and craft beers, including The Bowery Kitchen’s own proprietary "Bowery Brew."
