Cavo Cafe Lounge Restaurant Review:

A residential street a few blocks off the shops on Steinway Street might seem an unlikely locale for a restaurant, but Cávo adds to the up-and-coming dining scene in this part of Queens. The elegant and chic multi-room space, with its Victorian-accented furnishings, long silk banners that run like waves across the ceiling and green bamboo trees, lends itself to sampling the Mediterranean cuisine. Try the Black Angus short ribs served over orzo; the light texture and taste of the pasta is a good complement. We also recommend the lobster roll with oven-dried tomatoes, arugula, avocado and chipotle aïoli. The olive-and-herb-crusted Colorado lamb chop and braised lamb shank combination (accompanied by a chickpea stew) is hearty and rich, and accented by a complex medley of spices. With a setting and food like this, diners might have less of a need to head into Manhattan for dinner.
