Chalk Point Kitchen Restaurant Review:

High ceilings and wooden beams lend this place a down-home quality, but the food is a bit fancier than what you'd find at Grandma's. The menu prominently notes the restaurant’s purveyors and it sings with whatever is fresh each season, so don't get too attached to any particular dish. Snacks are shareable and vegetable-centric, like fried green tomatoes and toasts with smashed peas. Entrées bring in a few Asian accents: Sichuan lamb noodles with spicy black beans and the Vietnamese steak salad. A meal could be composed by choosing from the extensive array of vegetable sides: roasted carrots, cauliflower steak with tahini, grilled jumbo asparagus. The mainly domestic wine list has deep roots in Napa with a short roster of big bottles like Château Lafite, for those with extra cash to burn. Desserts are in the Italian vein, featuring panna cotta and affogato with amaretto cookies.
