A few steps from Luxembourg Gardens, Chez Diane is an intimate little bistro offering all the usual classics. The dining room, with its dark mustard walls, small bar and simple crystal chandeliers, is classic and cozy. Although we've been disappointed with a leathery coq au vin, we were impressed with a butter-tender escalope of veal topped with a pleasantly pungent Roquefort sauce. Starters include wild mushrooms in a foie gras-infused cream sauce, rich and filling, and a cassoulet of escargots, baked with more mushrooms.
