This modernist café in the East Village has a huge selection of cocoa-based remedies for even the most inveterate chocolate fiend. The expansive dry-goods section includes 65 percent cocoa bars---the house blend---along with flavored chocolates in mint and berry iterations, loose leaf teas, and faux-vintage-style candies. At the sit-down section of the café, there are both hot and cold chocolate drinks. The hot, spicy Mexican-style brew is both warming and sinus-clearing. A so-called “dirty gelato” is essentially an affogato to-go, as it’s mixed with a shot of espresso. Richest of all are the brownies, dense treats that are decadent enough to share. Be warned: Those with a serious sweet tooth will feel it in their wallet and waistline.
