Dopo East Restaurant Review:
This elegant Upper East Side restaurant offers rustic Italian fare. Start with the sautéed octopus with boiled fingerling potatoes and baby spinach or the tuna tartare with mango and avocado. Move on to the pillow-soft gnocchi, which is pleasingly drenched in fresh tomato sauce, melted mozzarella and basil. Hearty entrées include grilled marinated lamb chops, oven-roasted salmon steak with mustard sauce, and chicken scaloppini topped with prosciutto and sage. The wine list is refreshingly affordable with glasses for around $10 and a few decent bottles in the $30-$40 range.
