While this bistro with its impersonal décor will not evoke the feel of Madrid, the flavors and the wines are genuinely Spanish. Paella and tapas of octopus à la plancha, fried smelts and chorizo with cider are well-rendered. For dessert, don’t miss the turron mi-cuit, a melting piece of nougat from Alicante. To wash all this down, there’s a large choice of forty Spanish-only wines by the glass kept fresh by an Enomatic (Cruvinet like) machine, such as a Murua Blanco as well as a fabulous 1999 vintage Vega Sicilia Unico Ribera del Duero.
