El Toreo Cafe Restaurant Review:
Lost amid the slicker, better-known Old Pasadena eateries, this narrow dining room is filled with red booths and tables clad in pink linen. Poster-size versions of vintage postcards share the walls with Pacifica and Dos Equis signs. Virtually nothing exceeds a single digit in price, and portions are typically generous (the refreshing seafood cocktails are massive). Among other dishes, you'll find stuffed green chiles, fried chicken and a variety of combination platters with enchiladas, tacos and taquitos. Beer and wine is available, though limited in selection. Sadly, most folks walk right by this unique place on their way to a Cheesecake Factory or Crocodile Café.
