Gina Mexicana Restaurant Review:

If money is no object, you’ll like this colorful sliver of a restaurant in the tony private school area of the Upper East Side. While basically all the usual Mexican dishes are offered and all are very good despite the small portions, they are quite pricey, even for the area. You might start with a well-made margarita sweetened with a drop of blood orange, and follow it with a trio of salsas served with homemade chips. Tacos are tasty, particularly the pastor and tiger shrimp versions. Then jump to the enchiladas, creatively crafted with ingredients like romaine lettuce, mole and hot salsa roja. The diminutive space and hard surfaces make for a pretty lively room and bar scene, especially with the broad selection of tequilas.
