Harold & Belle's Restaurant Review:
At Harold Legaux’s family-run Cajun restaurant, the quality of the cooking is even more impressive than the gargantuan portions. That's why this place, which has evolved from humble beginnings into casually elegant confines, is always full. There's much to choose from, but be sure to try home-style favorites like jambalaya, crawfish etouffée, authentic filé gumbo and po' boys that pack a heap of Louisiana flavor. Crispy Southern-style fried chicken alone is worth the trip, not to mention plentiful down-home desserts --- if you miraculously still have room --- such as the bread pudding with Jack Daniel’s whiskey sauce. Lunch specialties include liver and onions and blackened catfish, and you can get fried Gulf oysters and popcorn crawfish to-go. Classic New Orleans cocktails like the Sazerac are available, along with several draft beers and a brief wine list.
