THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Il Sole Restaurant Review:
Just down the street from the Sunset Plaza outdoor-café madness, Il Sole delivers authentic Italian food in a redesigned setting featuring banquettes and candlelit tables. Savoring the cuisine is a hip clientele drawn by the owners (a music manager and film producer, and a rock concert promoter), who partnered with entrepreneur Brent Bolthouse on the restaurant’s redo. The menu, overseen by chef Issac Rivera, highlights regional Italian dishes such as Parmigiana di melanzane alla Napoletana (Napoli-style eggplant Parmesan) and spaghetti con ragù di carne alla Toscana (Tuscan-style spaghetti with meat ragù). For the sweet note, the obligatory tiramisu is a good choice, along with the panna cotta. A meal at Il Sole (the sun) is definitely a little sunshine in our busy lives.
