Another winning hotel dining room entry, this time with Rick Laakkonen checking in to the Bryant Park Hotel to lend his creative hand in the kitchen. Returning after a long stint at The River Café, diners certainly feel ilo (Finnish for a joyous state of being) when sampling Laakkonen’s modern American dishes like the ragoût of grilled octopus and Manila clams, and roast boneless rack of lamb with artichoke, portobello mushrooms and Swiss chard. Or maybe forego the decision-making and opt for the The Chef’s Tasting menu.
