![]() : An outpost of a popular SoHo restaurant of the same name, Jack’s Wife Freda is often jam-packed, filled with everyone from lanky fashion models to millennials and their visiting parents. The food is old-school Jewish cuisine with an updated spin, and the all-day menu runs the gamut from breakfast fare to burgers. Start the day with a slightly spicy green shakshuka. The Madame Freda is a hearty take on the croque madame: a pressed sandwich filled with duck bacon and Gruyère and topped with a sunny side up egg. In the evening, a dish of curried mussels, exclusive to this location, come on the menu and are worth ordering for the rich flavor of the broth. Wines on the short line-up are affordable and offered by the glass and carafe. |
