THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Le Soleil Restaurant Review:
The name says it all: Le Soleil, or “the sun.” Formerly a tired Italian eatery (Gildo), the restaurant now offers the sunny cuisine of the French Riviera and Corsica. “Short” menus are offered “pour les copains”---for the pals---composed of sardine buns, “pizzetas” with Sicilian tomatoes, and grilled rougets. Bouillabaisse has to be ordered ahead. A la carte, the prices take off, but the breaded and stuffed green olives of Ascoli, and the Nimes cod-fish brandade are ravishing. Interesting wine list devoted to the wines of Provence.
