Yai Restaurant Review:

An authentic, decidedly no-frills Thai Town eatery, hidden in a nondescript mini-mall anchored by a 7-Eleven, Yai is a refreshing change from all of those suburban Thai restaurants with predictable, interchangeable menus. Here diners (mainly neighborhood locals) tuck into dishes such as a fiery beef salad, tendon soup, crispy slices of catfish in a sweet but pungent curry sauce, and pork with vegetables, heavily scented with garlic. Even familiar dishes such as pad thai seem to be infused with intense flavors, and often plenty of heat. To drink there’s Thai beer, a strong Thai iced tea, or refreshing longan juice. Cash only.
