THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Purnima Restaurant Review:

Gourmet Indian cuisine isn’t what you’d expect in the Theater District, but this cheery restaurant with its well-meaning staff and creative dishes is a welcome pre-theater option. Lamb pistachio, a dish of cinnamon-infused lamb in a creamy pistachio sauce, and shrimp sarisha spiced with herbs in a mustard sauce are unusual and beautifully presented. Desserts are also not to be missed, such as the homemade Indian ice cream (kulfi) and golub jamon, a cheese ball served with a sweet sauce. A range of wines, including a rose cava, is offered. The location couldn’t be more convenient if you’re going to the theatre, particularly a show at the Roundabout with its Studio 54 location. Just allow plenty of time so you don’t miss the curtain.
