THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sweetiepie Restaurant Review:

An adult sans child might feel a bit out of place at this West Village restaurant. That’s because it seems to have been designed specifically for little girls. Magenta walls and a table at the front window that’s entirely enclosed in a huge bird cage make Sweetiepie a Mecca for the Barbie-loving set. The menu, which is beside the point, is an odd (and overpriced) mishmash of dishes that seem to cater more to little girls’ parents: greasy schnitzel, grilled wild Alaskan salmon, hanger steak in a red wine sauce. There are also plenty of burgers, sandwiches and salads and, appropriately enough, an extra large selection of desserts, including the “Sweetiepig,” which offers sponge cake, whipped cream, bananas, strawberries, and eighteen scoops of ice cream. In the afternoons you can have a tea party with a prix-fixe menu that includes a wide selection of teas, tea sandwiches and tea cakes. Sweetiepie also offers private rooms for parties. And, really, what little girl wouldn’t want a birthday party here? For the adult who needs an escape as well, Sweetiepie also has a long cocktail list.
