Veselka Restaurant Review:
True, this neighborhood is full of Eastern European diners, but Veselka’s sprawling selection of pierogi and potato pancakes, blintzes and borscht has made it a local favorite. The spiffed up diner décor, oddly, has a film motif that includes cartoonish-looking filmstrip murals on the walls. Main dishes include a lamb and feta burger with roasted red pepper relish and choice of fries; stuffed cabbage in either rich mushroom gravy or savory tomato sauce; grilled Ukrainian kielbasa; or Ola's famous veal goulash with creamy mashed potatoes. But you may be standing outside on weekends---lines usually stretch out the door for a good weekend brunch.
