The Admiral Risty Restaurant Review: This hillside restaurant on the Palos Verdes peninsula has a spectacular ocean view and a menu of competently prepared seafood and Italian dishes. The upscale atmosphere attracts an older crowd that appreciates fresh fish and classic preparations, and the veteran team here keeps them happy. Not much has changed since its debut in 1966, and that is a comforting quality for the locals. There are fried scallops, filet, shrimp brochette and chicken picatta, but the standout item is the cioppino, which is served in intimidating quantities. Order a bowl and a pair of appetizers and you have an ample meal for two people---which is good, because the prices definitely have changed since 1966. An expansive dessert list features seasonal fresh strawberry shortcake, peach and blackberry cobbler, and German chocolate cake. |
