Aspen Restaurant and Bar Restaurant Review

: Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the room in sunlight during the day, illuminating an inviting dining area equipped with a fireplace and granite bar. A staircase marked by cascading leaves enclosed in glass leads to the Amber Lounge, where the bar of natural mahogany, leather banquettes and a décor of brick reds and dark browns complement the dining room. The seasonal New American menu includes starters like Cabernet-braised beef short ribs with walnut skordalia drizzle, wild mushrooms and butternut purée; and lemon grass pork with udon noodles in a sweet Thai chili sauce with wasabi peas. Main courses range from potato gnocchi with roasted tomatoes, basil and pecorino Romano to Long Island duck confit with spaghetti squash, duck sausage and lentils, and a green peppercorn sauce. Desserts, too, showcase the season's bounty: apple upside-down clafoutis with maple gelato and caramel sauce. The reasonably priced wine list consists of varietals that pair well with the menu.
