At this Flushing restaurant, it’s all about the namesake dish: xiao long bao, better known as soup dumplings. These morsels are some of the best of their kind in New York --- pork and crab meat dumplings, for example, filled with a bold-flavored broth are so good you may order a second or third round. The only issue is that the outer skin of the dumplings is quite thin and it often falls apart when picked up; the attempt to eat the dumplings is half the fun. Non-dumpling options are also worth considering, including the spicy cucumber and garlic salad, the scallion pancake, and the thick Shanghai pan-fried noodles. If you're somehow still hungry, there's pork fried rice and snow cabbage with lima beans and tofu. There’s no alcohol served (only plum juice and milk tea), so be sure to bring your own. Cash only.
