THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES NoMI Restaurant Review:
THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES TO NOMI KITCHEN. Sure, the Park Hyatt is a luxurious place to stay, but we think that has a lot to do with NoMI, the lovely seventh floor restaurant overlooking Michigan Avenue. A contraction of “North Michigan,” the restaurant remains among the paradigms for hotel dining, despite the ever-expanding possibilities. Snake your way to the moody, dark lounge or, when the weather is nice, visit the lush, seasonal rooftop garden for a pre-meal cocktail. Once you’re ready to immerse yourself in comfort, ask for a window table in the neutral-hued dining room, which is crowned with blown-glass Chihuly chandeliers. Just be sure to leave plenty of time to peruse the renowned (and pricy) wine list. Recently departed is French-trained Christophe David, whose classic-modern cuisine was as impeccable as the environs in which it was served. Gone, too, is executive sous chef Christian Ragano. Ryan LaRoche, chef de cuisine, remains in the kitchen; he’s an up-and-comer to watch. Changes, no doubt, will ensue.
