Rae's Restaurant Restaurant Review:

This small, turquoise-blue joint is a classic 50's diner --- the real thing, not a re-creation like Mel’s Drive-In. As at most of L.A.’s good breakfast spots, patrons line up outside on weekends, while Rae’s frenetic waitresses serve up pancakes, french toast, omelets, and biscuits with gravy. Specials include the hotcake sandwich, huevos rancheros and the “special omelette” stuffed with chicken, zucchini, tomatoes, onions and cheese.
