THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Spasso Restaurant Review:

This West Village eatery serves up both classic and inventive Italian fare. Diners can choose a bottle from the all-Italian wine list (there are 150 selections) and browse a menu separated in the usual Italian manner (antipasti, primi and secondi). Spasso is Italian for “amusement,” and enjoyment comes easy when eating the carbonara; the eggy dish is paired with bigoli, a long, thick noodle with a course texture that holds onto the sauce admirably. The same goes for the orecchiette (“little ears), a chewy pasta from Puglia mixed with a light sauce of breadcrumbs, crab and shrimp. Heartier options include the ultra-tender roasted pork shoulder and the restorative seafood stufato, a stew of mussels, clams and fennel. Save room for the mint-laced coconut panna cotta.
