 Adjacent to Brentwood's upscale restaurant Toscana is the chic little sister lounge Bar Toscana. The tiny, cozy space was once a gallery, which is fitting considering art installations depicting vines and flowers are projected on the walls. Besides the bar seating, there are a number of closely assembled two-top tables. (Expect to get friendly with fellow revelers in such close quarters.) The menu features stuzzicini (small Italian plates) by chef Luca Crestanelli and excellent cocktails, such as the Pearbellini made with Grey Goose Le Poire, St-Germain liqueur, fresh pears, lime juice and aromatic bitters. The "deconstructed pizza" arrives on a plank with pieces of Italian toast, a jar of tomato jam, crispy pepperoni and a mound of burrata. Other options might include lobster salad with tomato, ginger and basil; ahi tuna crudo with capers, pesto, green peppers and tomato confit; and daily specials like cheese ravioli with asparagus. For dessert, indulge in the apple tartlet served with Tahitian vanilla sauce or the hazelnut semifreddo and caramel gelato mousse.
