| If you can afford to shop at Barney's department store, that bastion of New York chic, you'll appreciate the smoked salmon and sturgeon flown in from where else? Located on the store's top level, this is definitely a designer deli---which means a marble vodka-and-caviar bar, as well as extraordinary cold cuts and gourmet salads from the glassed-in case. Of course, if you're missing that matzo ball soup or pastrami sandwich smothered in Russian dressing from your favorite Brooklyn deli, don't fret---the renditions here are plenty satisfying, albeit a tad more expensive. Naturally, there's also a choice of healthy salads for the models, and on weekday mornings you're likely to see agents from nearby William Morris power-breakfasting on bagels and lox. On sunny days, the terrace is a perfect perch for a view of the hills of Beverly. Note: this stellar deli closes at 6 p.m. |
