THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED BatterFish Restaurant Review:

THIS RESTAURANT HAS CLOSED, BUT THE FOOD TRUCK CONTINUES TO OPERATE --- The base of an Encino office tower probably isn't the place people should expect to find fish ‘n’ chips, but the dish is in the owner's blood. Jason Killalee, who hails from Dublin, Ireland, spent time working front of house at top restaurants like Providence and Bastide, before returning to his roots with BatterFish. The space features a glass front, reclaimed wood and mottled walls, with an open kitchen and wall-mounted menu. Killalee isn’t a stickler for tradition, and even allows for customization. Choose a fish, a batter and style of chip (sweet, French or thick-cut) and he’ll start frying. Fish sizzle in vegetable oil, and skin-on Kennebec fries take a bath in beef fat, which adds rich flavor. Catfish paired well with garlic-ginger batter, resulting in an almost Asian flair. Cod, which separates into flaky sheets, works well with a chile batter. Tilapia and salmon are the other two sustainable, wild-caught fish. It’s also possible to batter and deep-fry a burger, Bratwurst or candy bar. Salads and tacos are on the menu as well, but since they’re not deep-fried, why bother?
