 Beacon is the creation of Kazuto Matsusaka, who built up a loyal following helming the stoves at Chinois on Main, ZenZero and Barfly. His menu at this modern bistro in the classic Helms Bakery building remains simple, along with the prices. Feast on the Asian cuisine influenced by the chef's many years in California and Europe. Kakuni udon noodles with braised pork belly, and duck confit with fingerling potatoes, frisée, grapes and pine nuts in a plum-ginger glaze are samples of the cuisine, along with sashimi plates and maki rolls. This is an easy place to go to catch up with a friend or to get some decent food while furniture shopping. |
