Biergarten Restaurant Review

: Located under the elevated High Line park, Biergarten may be the world’s hippest beer garden. That’s because it’s part of The Standard Hotel, hotelier André Balazs’s Meatpacking District outpost of his mini chain of posh properties. The outdoor space has an intimate closed-off-from-the-world feel. Long picnic tables and high-rise tables are comfortable enough to inspire an afternoon of imbibing the three German beers on tap (light, dark and wheat) as well as noshing on the short, but bursting-with-flavor sausages, grilled to order. The menu, designed by Kurt Gutenbrunner, only consists of a variety of those sausages and oversize pretzels, but that’s enough to give this attractive spot a second or third look.
