 Tiny white lights twinkle in the ficus trees at this old-fashioned winter garden setting, all that’s left of the Bistro/Bistro Garden glamour-restaurant family that once ruled in Beverly Hills. You can count on good service and renditions of such updated continental dishes as French onion soup au gratin, sautéed shrimp and scallops Provençal, pan-roasted chicken, Dijon-crusted Colorado rack of lamb and filet mignon with Cognac and shallots. And the house chocolate soufflé warrants its fine reputation. Complement your meal with a selection from the wine list, which features options from California and France, among other regions. Half-bottles and wines by the glass are available. A number of assembled picnic baskets may be ordered, filled with items like beef carpaccio and Cajun-marinated breast of chicken. Additional enticements: a complimentary chocolate soufflé for a birthday celebration (limit one per table); complimentary hors d’oeuvres during happy hour in the bar (Monday-Friday 5 p.m.-7 p.m.); a complimentary mimosa with at least one entrée during Sunday brunch for guests 21 and over; and daily specials and a featured special for lunch and dinner.
