| Peter Tachikawa’s Japanese and Chinese restaurant is hidden in plain sight in the corner of a shopping center, and worth discovering for home-style food at reasonable prices. Chef Miyoda is almost equally adept at preparing tan-tan noodle soup and orange chicken as he is with miso-broiled sea bass and broiled yellowtail collar with ponzu sauce. The sushi bar offers a variety of fresh raw seafood and fairly inventive rolls, plus a short list of sashimi. At lunch or dinner, there are compelling combination meals. Specials change frequently, so be sure to check the blackboard before ordering. Two aspects that don’t change: friendly service and reasonable prices. |
