The Brandywine Restaurant Review

: A true undiscovered gem, this charming continental spot offers old-fashioned service and a warm atmosphere that keep diners coming back. Brandywine will never be known for its culinary creativity, but quality ingredients go into every well-prepared item listed on the chalkboard menu. Specialty starters include calamari Greco, sautéed in olive oil and lemon, and medallions of lobster with crème fraîche and caviar for the more indulgent diner. Frogs’ legs Provençale, veal sweetbreads, and filet and veal Oscar with asparagus and a béarnaise sauce are among the old-world entrées. Look for seasonal specials such as elk or red abalone. Many items, such as the Caesar salad, are prepared tableside, and desserts, perhaps a Meyer lemon pudding cake, are just as classic. The dining room feels more like a cozy living room, filled with a handful of nicely appointed tables, and a series of completely private booths are ideal for intimate conversation.
