Restaurateur George Ghaby’s Brix 42 specializes in home-style cooking with dishes like blackened salmon, pot roast with garlic mashed potatoes, beer-battered fish ‘n’ chips, and an all-American burger. Beer-friendly snacks---Brix 42 houses its own brewery where a brewmaster combines German malts with American hops---include seared albacore with soy vinaigrette, Cajun fries and miniature bites of the signature pot roast. The cavernous restaurant, occupying a historic building in Old Pasadena, combines new and old, juxtaposing a retro crystal chandelier with modern black and white lounge furniture.
