Brix at the Shore Restaurant Review

: This small spot effortlessly taps into the casual neighborhood vibe of Long Beach’s Belmont Shore area. If you belly up to the bar, you may catch the colorful owner Rick “Rick Brix” Reich swapping stories and sharing information on the rotating list of craft beers and wines, which are written on the adjacent chalkboard wall. His New York background is evident on the menu, which is loaded with deli standards like pastrami and corned beef sandwiches on rye. We recommend the plate featuring half of each sandwich, along with a proper accompaniment like house-made potato chips or onion rings. A compact slate of pizzas furthers the East Coast experience, while burgers and entrées of pork belly served over a bed of arugula and spring greens round out the offerings. Be sure to save room for a slice of New York cheesecake for dessert. The weekend brunch lineup is home to hearty breakfast sandwiches and plenty of NYC deli classics, like latkes and lox.
