THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe 440 Restaurant Review:

This is one of those dining spots that could only exist in Beverly Hills. An expansive patio dotted with wrought-iron tables and potted ficus, Café 440 is not a true restaurant but a sort of dining lounge adjacent to the famed Frédéric Fekkai salon. You can't beat the view, overlooking Rodeo Drive, and despite the location the prices are better than competitive with many local cafés. The menu is simple. Egg dishes dominate at breakfast. For lunch it is mostly sandwiches, salads and about half a dozen wraps, including one creatively stuffed with barbecue-sauced chicken and fried onion rings. The signature drinks are smoothies and freshly squeezed juices. Many, like the Beta Booster made with fresh mango and carrot, are aimed toward a diet-conscious crowd. But the popular Peanut Butter Blast---blended from peanuts, banana, peanut butter cups, chocolate milk and frozen yogurt---is nothing short of outrageous. For those with no Atkins issues, there's also a daily changing selection of desserts including cheesecake, oatmeal cookies and ice cream. So long as you can bear the whine of blow driers and the smell of conditioning shampoo on your way to and from the elevator, the ultimate bargain Beverly Hills dining experience is yours for the taking.
