THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Giovanni Restaurant Review:
Café Giovanni is one of the most well-established Italian restaurants in the French Quarter. Energetic chef Duke LoCicero offers lightly battered Oysters Giovanni served on a plate painted with five sauces. Caesar salads are garnished with eggplant croutons, while grilled Louisiana Gulf fish pairs with jumbo lump crab meat in a vermouth sauce. The traditional Sicilian dishes are all available, too: spaghetti Bolognese, meatballs and spaghetti, and rosemary lamb chops to name a few. A limited but carefully chosen selection of Italian reds highlights a nicely organized wine list of mostly California labels. End your meal with chocolate lava cake. And ask about Chef Duke’s “Feed You” menu that allows guests to sample many different signature dishes. Go for happy hour at the adjacent Belli Baci lounge and enjoy special drink prices and appetizers.
