A Hollywood institution, The Cat & Fiddle is a beloved watering hole for rockers, British expats and their friends, with an enormous and prettily lit outdoor patio and several cozy inside rooms (in one of them a fireplace blazes in winter). There’s a full bar, a better-than-expected wine list, and about ten beers on tap, including iconic UK labels like Newcastle, Guinness and Boddington’s. The menu is dominated by pub standards such as the ploughman's lunch, shepherd’s pie, fish 'n' chips and curry. Homesick English transplants can even buy bangers by the pound to take home. It's a comfortable spot to while away a few hours over a pint and, when there's live music (call in advance for schedule), a place for a rocking good time. For dessert, consider warm walnut brownies and, naturally, sticky toffee pudding.
